State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co has optimized six bus routes to meet increased demand for nighttime travel during holidays and the summer season, offering extended services to ensure convenient mobility for residents and tourists.
Since May 1, the last buses for Routes 1, 2, 9, 40, and 307 operate until 11:30 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, while Route 248 runs until 10:00 pm. These routes cover popular commercial areas and attractions such as Qingyun Market, Jiaxiu Tower, Fountain Square, and Qianlingshan Park, providing easy access for evening sightseeing, dining, and night market visits.
In addition to extended hours, non-local senior residents aged 70 and above can ride all regular bus routes for free with a valid ID.
Two summer-specific tourism lines are also resuming operation: the Guiyang East Station-Huaguoyuan Twin Towers Express and the Middle Yan'an South Road-Jiaxiu Tower line. Connecting city commercial hubs with well-known cultural and tourist sites, both routes operate from May 1 to Oct 7 at a flat fare of 2 yuan ($0.30).
The Guiyang East Station route runs from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, the Huaguoyuan Twin Towers route from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, the Yan'an South Road (Middle) route from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm, and the Jiaxiu Building route from 8:00 pm to 9:50 pm.
