Guiyang Eco-Specialty Food Industry Park Construction & Operation Co, a subsidiary of Guiyang Industrial Development Holding Group, and JD Logistics jointly launched Guizhou's first eco-food industrial park carbon & energy platform in September. Powered by IoT and blockchain, the platform helps enterprises reduce supply-chain carbon intensity and build a verifiable and tradable carbon-data asset ecosystem.

Wang Chong, the company's deputy general manager, said that many eco-food enterprises lack clarity about their emissions and reduction pathways during their green transitions. The platform was designed to address these pain points by accurately measuring carbon emissions from raw materials and processing to cold-chain logistics, identifying energy-intensive stages and providing targeted efficiency recommendations.

Carbon data certified and assigned through the platform can be recognized as corporate carbon assets. These assets may be registered, evaluated, and traded on compliant exchanges, enabling market-based monetization and offering a basis for enterprises to obtain green financing. The platform will first serve companies entering the smart urban warehouse and gradually expand to upstream and downstream partners.

The platform has now passed ISO 14064-1 certification, becoming the first carbon-data management platform of its kind in Guizhou. It will be launched alongside the full operation of the industrial park.
