In the face of the latest round of the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak, State-owned group Guiyang Public Transport Co actively undertook protective isolation and transfer work in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

It simultaneously carried out bus route adjustments to ensure the safe travel of residents.

"We have prepared 20 buses as connecting capacity and 40 buses as spare vehicles," said Ming Mei, manager of the express operations branch of the company.

"All staff members are stationed at the company and are on duty 24 hours a day," Ming added.

On Sept 8, the Nanming Branch of Guiyang Public Transport Co received an emergency order to deploy 100 vehicles, 100 drivers and five administrators within one hour – to transfer daily necessities to an area designated by the epidemic prevention and control headquarters.

Shen Lu, deputy manager of the Nanming branch, said that since there were more than 30 metric tons of materials to be transported, all the drivers and administrators not only performed the transportation task, but also assumed the handling work. It took nearly five hours to finally complete the transportation of the materials.

In addition, since the outbreak of the current round of the epidemic, it is reported that nearly 300 staff members from various branches of the company have joined a volunteer team.
