Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is accelerating its industrial growth with remarkable achievements in the manufacturing sector. Recent launches, including Geely's latest car model and Chery's mass-produced, new energy heavy trucks, underscore the city's growing presence in advanced manufacturing. Guiyang-produced parts have even made their mark in space, accompanying rockets and spacecraft on their missions.
Guiyang's "Industrial City" strategy emphasizes industrial expansion as a core initiative. The city's economy has shown robust growth due to its commitment to new industrialization. From January to September, large-scale industrial output increased 11 percent year over year, the highest among western capital cities in China. This expansion is fueled by the thriving new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, where local production has soared, significantly contributing to the region's economy.
Guiyang's development zones are at the forefront of industrial advancements, with cutting-edge facilities in sectors like robotics and metals refining. For instance, a Guiyang-based company recently pioneered two new specialized foods, marking a first for Guizhou in this field.
The city also emphasizes efficient administration within its industrial parks, with expanded services and streamlined processes to support business growth. Through these initiatives, Guiyang is laying a solid foundation for continued industrial prosperity, setting the stage for high-quality economic development and cementing its role as Guizhou's key economic driver.
