The Gui'an New Area located in Southwest China's Guizhou province is pushing forwards with industrial breakthroughs in 2024, focusing on high-quality economic growth through rapid advancements in its industrial sector.
Prioritizing sectors – such as new energy vehicles or NEVs, batteries, electronics and advanced manufacturing – Gui'an aims to build a strong foundation for a modernized industry landscape.
Leading NEV manufacturer Guizhou Changjiang Automotive Co is one of those companies that are showcasing the area's ever-increasing industrial prowess.
The company has produced nearly 10,000 electric vehicles this year, driven by the province's "Electric Guizhou" policy, which has boosted demand and increased production.
With state-of-the-art production facilities, Changjiang Automotive is said to be very committed to creating a smart factory for NEVs.
Gui'an's strategic focus on creating three core industry bases – for NEVs and battery production, electronic manufacturing and advanced equipment – has attracted key players like CATL, BYD and CRRC.
Together, these industries have achieved a 78-percent increase in gross industrial output in the first three quarters of the year, accounting for nearly 70 percent of Gui'an's total industrial output.
The area's efforts have also nurtured over 20 "little giant" SMEs, which specialize in technology-driven, high-growth products.
Overall, Gui'an's support infrastructure, including industrial parks and innovation zones, continues to lay the groundwork for future expansion, consolidating its position as a powerhouse for new industrialization.
