A recent event in Jinsha county, Bijie city, Guizhou province, reached a significant milestone in promoting electric heavy trucks for the energy sector.
Local coal mining and logistics companies signed up to purchase 210 Guizhou-branded electric trucks. These trucks, specifically designed for Guizhou's mountainous terrain, boast features like zero emissions, strong power, high efficiency, and enhanced safety.
According to Hu Xiangcheng, general manager of Guizhou Ruiqi New Energy Automobile Co, the electric trucks' regenerative energy capabilities and powerful climbing ability make them ideal for short-distance coal and mining transportation. With an energy consumption of just 1.3-1.5 kWh per kilometer when fully loaded, they offer a cost-effective alternative to traditional fuel vehicles.
Guizhou has implemented policies to accelerate the high-quality development of its electric vehicle industry. To date, 1,460 electric trucks have been deployed in the energy sector. The province has also established 13,800 charging stations and 16 battery-swap stations.
Guizhou's growing electric truck industry is fostering partnerships and extending the supply chain. Companies are now looking to attract components like suspensions and axles to further enhance the electric heavy truck industry.
More than 40 charging and battery-swap stations are planned for the region by 2026, supporting this industry's continuous growth.
