Guiyang's digital economy top force in new quality production

Over the past decade, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area have capitalized on opportunities to build a robust digital economy, with Guiyang's transformation into a big data and digital innovation hub marking a significant leap forward in its development.

As the core of the National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Guiyang has embraced new quality productive forces and facilitated the growth of a trillion-yuan digital economy cluster. This achievement underscores the city's role in China's digital rise.

Since 2014, Guiyang has been at the forefront of big data development. The city has rapidly advanced its data center industry by establishing a nationwide data hub and building key information infrastructure. With a focus on software and information technology services, Guiyang has nurtured cloud services, data security, and industrial internet, contributing to the growth of a thriving digital economy.

Guiyang's computing power has also seen remarkable growth. The city's computing capacity has reached 76,000 TFLOPS, making it China's leading computing power base. In 2023, Guiyang's software and service industry revenue surpassed 80 billion yuan ($11.22 billion), with Huawei Cloud generating over 53.6 billion yuan.
