Gui'an New Area's industrial output soars by 41.4% in H1

Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province has reported a remarkable 41.4 percent growth in its industrial output for the first half of 2024, reflecting a strong and healthy industrial economy.

This surge is driven by robust developments in new industries, including advancements in the big data sector and increases in the production of new energy batteries and beverages.

Gui'an's strategic focus on becoming a national hub for computing power, new energy vehicles, and advanced manufacturing has paid off. The area has already established 20 large-scale data centers, placing it at the forefront of computing capabilities in China. The region's power consumption, particularly by data centers, reached 1.35 billion kWh, a 50.33 percent increase from last year.

Major companies such as CATL, BYD, and CRRC have set up operations in Gui'an, fostering a complete industrial chain from battery materials to vehicle manufacturing. The area has also made significant advancements in building charging infrastructure, with 69 fast-charging stations currently in operation.

Gui'an plans to continue its aggressive industrial development strategy, focusing on digital transformation, investment promotion, and constructing its three major industrial bases to sustain high growth and quality development.
