Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area are said to be rapidly emerging as global leaders in the intelligent computing sector.
With a strategic focus on the digital economy, the region has successfully attracted major computing giants and nurtured local business enterprises, establishing itself as one of the world's biggest data center clusters.
Since the launch of the national "channeling computing resources from the east to the west" project in 2021, Guiyang and Gui'an have capitalized on new opportunities – positioning themselves at the forefront of intelligent computing development.
On March 30, 2024, tech group Huawei Cloud signed an agreement to build a state-of-the-art intelligent computing base in Gui'an, leveraging both technological and geographical advantages.
What's more, Guiyang and Gui'an are home to major data centers – including the China Unicom Gui'an Zhiyun Data Center and the NetEase Gui'an Data Center – which support a wide range of industries and users across China.
The region has already completed or is planning 21 large-scale data centers, with 137,000 standard racks and 1.37 million servers.
Guiyang and Gui'an continue to innovate, implementing policies that support the growth of the digital economy, data resource management, and public data utilization – further solidifying their position as a leading global hub for intelligent computing.
