Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area are currently in the process of leveraging their resources to expand their combined new energy vehicle or NEV industry, advancing the "Electric Guizhou" initiative.

The rapid evolution and diversification of NEV products signals an exponential growth trajectory for the sector.

On Aug 3, Geely unveiled its Galaxy E5, the first pure electric SUV in the series at a global launch event in Guiyang.

The following day, the first 100 units of the Galaxy E5 were delivered. This model – Geely's first mass-produced car based on the GEA global intelligent new energy architecture – is assembled entirely in Guiyang, including its battery pack.

Geely's Guiyang manufacturing base, established in 2015 with an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles, has attracted over 30 suppliers since 2017 and partnered with 42 educational institutions in Guizhou, training about 3,000 automotive professionals annually.

The successful launch and delivery of the Galaxy E5 is widely said to demonstrate Guiyang's strong momentum in NEV development, further driving Guizhou's automotive industry towards global excellence.

In parallel, Chery Wanda's Guiyang facility has also made great strides in its NEV innovation. Recently, after eight months of development, the company rolled out a pure electric tourism bus, marking its entry into the tourism and passenger transport market.
