A recent forum on tech giant Huawei's self-developed operating system or OS, held in Guiyang, was said to highlight substantial progress being made with the system, called the HarmonyOS.
The HarmonyOS Government and Enterprise Industry Forum on Aug 2 was viewed as marking a significant step towards an independent computer and smart phone and device operating system for China.
Colorful Guizhou Network, a leading media group in Guizhou, showcased its HarmonyOS integration at the event. Its platforms, Duocaibao and Guishangyi, were among the first to upgrade to the HarmonyOS.
Duocaibao won the HarmonyOS Ecosystem Industry Solution Innovation Award and was recognized as the first government service model room in the ecosystem.
During the forum Huawei experts detailed HarmonyOS's architecture, ecosystem advantages and future plans.
The forum featured innovative cases in what were called "Industry Smart Applications" and "Smart Sales," demonstrating the ecosystem's potential.
Industry leaders contributed their insights on native software ecosystems, to help Guizhou's digital transformation.
Meanwhile, Huawei signed agreements with Duocaibao and Guishangyi, acknowledging the contributions of the platforms and marking a commitment by the tech titan to future collaboration.
Additional partnerships were formed with Zhongwang Media, the Guizhou People's Publishing House, Guizhou Forestry Development Co and Guizhou Smart Industry Investment Co.
The forum is seen as setting the stage for deepening cooperation and exploring new avenues in native software ecosystems, helping to drive Guizhou's digital economy forwards.
