Since Guizhou province pioneered the layout of a national big data industry in 2013, Gui'an New Area there – regarded as being the core of the China Data Valley – has carved out a path of high-quality development.
Early in June has seen the bustling construction of projects like the China Electronics Valley Digital Economy Industrial Park, the Southwest (Gui'an) Cloud Computing and Big Data Center, the Southern Energy Big Data Center and the Bank of Communications Gui'an Data Center.
Since its inception, Gui'an New Area has leveraged its climate, power and topography advantages, adhering to what it calls a "high-end, green and intensive" development path.
Overall, it has prioritized big data as its leading industry. In a few short years, the area has become home to data centers for the likes of China Mobile, China Unicom, Huawei, Apple and Tencent – solidifying its foundation as China Data Valley.
Gui'an, now one of the world's largest data center hubs, focuses on computing power, empowerment and industry.
It aims to take the lead in intelligent computing, industry models and data training – striving to build an internationally competitive smart computing base.
To date, Gui'an has introduced 20 data centers, deployed 95,800 smart computing cards and achieved a computing power scale of 30 EFlops, making it a national leader.
Recently, Gui'an Development Group and tech giant Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement to integrate AI and next-gen information technology into Guizhou's industries.
This partnership aims to industrialize large models – focusing on key sectors like liquor, new materials and electricity – and to enhance urban, rural, tourism and government digital services.
With the National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Experimental Zone AI Training Ground established early this year, Gui'an is said to be accelerating the creation of data training and labeling bases – standardizing training datasets and building data warehouses to support national and provincial data collections.
