Digitalization, intelligence drive market efficiency at CRRC Guiyang

CRRC Guiyang Co is leveraging digitalization and intelligence to boost its market efficiency.

In the company's axle workshop, mechanical arms swiftly dismantle bearings for the timely completion of 8,050 national railway freight car maintenance orders. The synchronized efforts of humans and machines ensure accurate welding and assembly of carriage bodies, seamlessly integrating into downstream production. Meanwhile, in the office building, production managers monitor dynamic data via the intelligent freight repair system, overseeing the maintenance progress of each carriage.

With a focus on digital and intelligent transformations, the company has revamped its railway freight car manufacturing and repair processes, leading to enhanced production efficiency and significant market growth.

"We are steadily advancing the digitalization of our axle workshop, focusing on the core components responsible for safe vehicle operations. Key data is automatically collected, driving production efficiency through automation and intelligent equipment," said Gui Rongxiao, a vice chief engineer at the company.

The company's intelligent freight repair system integrates ERP, MES, BPM, BI, and other systems, enabling internal system linkage, resource sharing, and comprehensive data analysis for optimized utilization.

Through its digitalization efforts, CRRC Guiyang now has the capacity to repair 15,000 railway freight carriages and manufacture 3,000 railway freight carriages annually.

In 2023, the company achieved a revenue of 1.92 billion yuan ($265 million) and a net profit attributable to shareholders of 85.28 million yuan, indicating an 8.26-percent year-on-year increase and a 40.41-percent year-on-year increase, respectively.
