Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group, headquartered in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently received a letter of thanks from the Raw Material Industry Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The letter praised the company for its strong support in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring the country's supply of spring farming fertilizer.
During the spring plowing and fertilizer preparation period from February to April 2020, China's chemical fertilizer supply was adversely impacted by the sudden disease outbreak.
Following the pandemic prevention and control requirements, Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group overcame many difficulties, including sudden changes in the market price of fertilizer products, a shortage of funds, lack of raw materials for production, hindered logistics and transportation, and low numbers of staff members returning to work. Despite the challenges, the company was able to meet the market demand for spring farming fertilizer.
In the first quarter of 2020, the company sold more than 440,000 metric tons of fertilizers, increasing 18.68 percent year-on-year, helping to guarantee the domestic supply of spring plowing fertilizer.
During the winter storage and spring sales period, the company shipped a total of 670,000 tons of chemical fertilizers, which were delivered to retail stores in townships.
It also actively adjusted the proportion of domestic and foreign product sales, making sure to prioritize the domestic demand for spring farming fertilizer.
Through online training, video services and hotlines, the company helped people solve planting problems, responded to customer after-sales requests and transmit logistics and transportation information.
