Southwest China's Guizhou province has added 14 provincial industrial design centers, of which 12 are from Guiyang, the provincial capital, according to a notice recently issued by Guizhou province's Industry and Information Technology Department.
Industrial design integrates and optimizes the function, structure, form and packaging of products by using scientific and technological achievements, as well as knowledge of engineering, aesthetics, psychology and economics.
The certification work of Guizhou's provincial industrial design centers started in 2016. It aims to recognize industrial design centers or companies in the province with strong industrial design innovation capabilities, distinctive features, standardized management, outstanding performance and top-level designs.
This will promote the development of the industrial design industry and accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading.
In 2020, in accordance with provincial requirements, Guiyang actively organized enterprises to carry out the application and cultivation of industrial design centers and strengthened the promotion of provincial and municipal support policies. A total of 41 enterprises have applied to become provincial industrial design centers.
At present, Guizhou has 35 provincial industrial design centers, among which 22 are in Guiyang, accounting got 62.8 percent of the total.
