Slew of projects in Guiyang, Guian New Area break ground

The ground breaking ceremony for 44 industrial projects in Guiyang and Guian New Area, with a total investment of 19.46 billion yuan ($2.87 billion), took place on Sept 12 in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Since the start of the year, Guiyang and Guian New Area have actively implemented a new mutual development model and have accelerated high-quality development to create Guiyang as a city with a large economy.

Of the total, 35 projects in Guiyang started construction with a total investment of 14.4 billion yuan.

They covered industries such as big data electronic information, advanced equipment manufacturing, organic specialty foods, mid-to-high-end consumer goods manufacturing and clean energy and high-efficiency power.

It is estimated that after they start operations, their annual output value will be 13.5 billion yuan and more than 9,000 jobs will be created.

Meanwhile, another nine projects in the Guian New Area worth 5.06 billion yuan began construction, involving industries such as big data, electronics information, new building materials, food processing, new materials and manufacturing.

After the nine projects start production, their annual output will be worth 4.43 billion yuan and more than 1,500 jobs will be provided.
