Updated: 2020-01-21

The first and largest cross-border e-commerce platform in Guiyang -- the G7 Bonded Plaza -- will open in Guanshan Lake District in the capital of southwestern Guizhou province on Jan 18, as the prelude to the opening of the bonded goods demonstration and cross-border e-commerce week in the city.

Officials said the construction of the plaza was an important step made by the Guiyang government in building Guizhou province's own international high-quality commercial platform -- and promoting the high-quality development of Guiyang's real economy.

It will cover an area of 7,329 square meters and showcase hundreds of brands, with nearly 30,000 high-quality imported goods on sale.

The plaza will bring together global premium brands such as Estee Lauder, Chanel, Armani and Lamer and there are plans to introduce more goods from abroad to meet the needs of different groups of consumers.

In the future, Guiyang citizens will be able to buy a rich variety of imported goods locally.

“At present, nearly 20 cross-border trading companies are about to settle in the square. They work directly with the manufacturers, reducing a significant amount of costs in the process,” said Yang Jiao, director of the plaza.

“Also, we will try our best to provide financial support to the suppliers, so as to allow the citizens to enjoy the products at relatively lower prices,”

On the opening day, the online platform for the G7 Bonded Plaza will also be launched on internet websites, mobile phone apps and WeChat.

Supported by various advanced management systems such as the WMS warehousing systems and cross-border supply chain ERP systems, the online platform integrates functions including transactions, payments, social networking and customer services.

Officials said the online platform is expected to see the plaza to become one of the nation's largest online and offline cross-border trading entities in the country.

There is also a 500 square meter international cultural experience area in the plaza. Every month the area will display products from different countries, using holographic laser projection technology, to display the  culture of each country.

"The area is designed to bridge the gap and strengthen  business cooperation between Guiyang and overseas companies,” said the plaza’s director.

He also said that in the future, the G7 Bonded Plaza will be further integrated as a core business district in Guiyang, to attract more tourists and customers.
