Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, is adding more fuel to the development of the Big Data industry, which has already become an important engine for the city to economically overtake other cities in southwestern China.
The China International Big Data Industry Expo held in Guiyang, Guizhou province every year has become an international event and world-class platform leading the global development of the industry.
The city has established the world's first big data exchang -- Guiyang Big Data Exchange, founded 10 big data industrial parks, and attracted 1,632 big data companies over the past few years. The main business income of big data industries for these years has topped 100 billion yuan ($14.27 billion).
The State Development and Reform Commission issued the Overall Plan for the New West Land and Sea Corridor, which clarified Guiyang's positioning as a strategic hub in the region.
"Thousands of freight information is released on the Manbang platform, and truck drivers across the country can find business through mobile phones." Said Ai Ying, public relations manager of Manbang Group, a Guiyang-based freight company.
The company developed an information platform in 2017. By far, more than 7 million driver users have been certified on the platform.
Its freight business covers more than 110,000 lines in 339 major cities across the country, becoming China's largest highway logistics Internet information platform.
Step by step, Manbang has used big data technology to transformed the traditional logistics industry and brought great changes in China's road freight industry.
In 2014, the Guiyang Big Data Exchange was established. It launched a self-developed data trading system, trading rules, trading standards and specifications.
The number of members of the exchange exceeded 2,000 in 2018. It began to participate in the formulation of the country's first big data transaction security standard, and become a participant in the development of industry standards.
The exchange has initiated exchanges and cooperation with a series of countries and regions including Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan and Switzerland. A transaction service sub-center was also established in Malaysia by the exchange, who also cooperated with the Singapore Information and Media Development Bureau to construct the China-Singapore Big data Laboratory, according to a staff.
The exchange is expected to conduct standardization and compliance exploration in international data cooperation and promote cooperation in data standards in the future.
It will also keep improving the level of big data technology and deepen its researches to support China’s cooperation with foreign countries in the field of digital information.
Guiyang enterprises is also making continuous efforts in the highly competitive field of unmanned driving.
Recently, Guiyang city officially formulated the first open road test area for smart cars in Guizhou Province. Hankais, a local company focused on the intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence, became the first company officially testing in the area.
As of the beginning of 2019, Guiyang has built a total of 10 big data industrial parks, gathering 1,632 big data companies, who generated a main business income 100 billion yuan.
"Right now, with the construction of New Land and Sea Corridor in the west in full swing, Guiyang will strengthen cooperation with the areas along the corridor, and integrate resources from all aspects of the society to ensure long-term development for the region,” said Huang Yong, researcher from Guizhou Academy of Social Sciences.
