Guiyang's industrial economy eyes high quality development

Guiyang city, the provincial capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is endeavoring to boost industrial revitalization and build manufacturing brands for the high quality development of its industrial economy.

Adhering to a high quality development model that features maintaining existing industrial enterprises, expanding new projects, and improving industrial development quality, the city's industrial economic development showed a steady and positive trend this year.

In July, Guiyang held an industrial products expo, which gathered 136 industrial enterprises in the city and fully showcased the achievements of Guiyang's industrial economic development.

In Aug 2018, Guiyang issued a notice on policy measures to accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading which provide support for industrial enterprises in transformation and upgrading across 19 aspects, including the setting up of industrial development guiding funds and credit risk compensation funds.

The policy measures taken by Guiyang have injected a new driving force into the high quality development of its industrial economy. The city has fostered a group of well-known brands, enterprises and industrial clusters with core competitiveness so as to enhance the overall influence of industrial enterprises.

The representative industrial enterprises in aviation forgings intelligent manufacturing, the ultra large screen ULED industrialization, and the color aluminum board cloud intelligent manufacturing platform have seen their productivity and product quality rate rise significantly.

In addition, to further expand the city's total industrial economy and drive economic and social development, Guiyang finds its solutions through consumption upgrade and supply capacity improvement.

The city gives priority to establishing an industrial system that includes high-end consumer goods manufacturing, modern chemical engineering, advanced equipment manufacturing, big data electronic information, ecological specialty food, health medicine, clean and efficient power and new energy industry, basic materials, and new building materials.

"We will speed up the high level of opening up, promote high-end consumption, and advance the development of high-end manufacturing," said Xiao Lu, deputy director of the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Guiyang.

Besides, the city will bring in leading industrial products and improve supporting industries to enhance the high-quality development of the city's industrial economy, he added.
