On Sept 28, construction enthusiasm surged at the 100,000-ton potassium hydroxide project site in Shuangliu town, Guiyang City.
With an investment of approximately 750 million yuan ($106.97 million), this project marks Guizhou's first potassium hydroxide production line. It aims to fill a significant gap in high-end phosphate production. The project, managed by Guizhou Jushi Biochemical Co, will enhance the region's phosphate industry, which already boasts rich resources with an estimated 1.9 billion tons of phosphate reserves.
In recent years, Guiyang and Gui'an New Area have focused on industrial transformation, shifting from low-value chemical industries to high-value fine phosphate and new energy materials. This shift has led to a modern chemical industry system that contributes significantly to the local economy. New waste management facilities have replaced outdated garbage transfer stations, enhancing efficiency and improving environmental impact.
Guiyang's commitment to urbanization and infrastructure development has improved public amenities, including new parking spaces and community markets. The city's talent attraction strategies, such as the China Electric Power Construction Group doctoral research station, have fostered innovation and retained skilled professionals. Guiyang is thus well-positioned for sustainable growth and increased competitiveness.
