Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area are improving high-quality economic development by focusing on two key sectors: digital economy and electronic information manufacturing.
In 2023, the digital economy's contribution to GDP soared to 52.9 percent, a significant increase from 41.9 percent in 2021.
The region's electronic information manufacturing industry saw a 29.3 percent increase from last year, as the software and information technology services sector reached over 80 billion yuan ($11.23) in revenue, marking a 20.6 percent increase. Guiyang and Gui'an have strategically advanced their digital economy, emphasizing cloud computing, data services, and digital applications, transforming the region into a powerhouse of digital innovation.
The project that channels computing resources from the eastern regions to the western regions of China and the development of the Gui'an Data Center Cluster have further solidified Guiyang and Gui'an as a national hub for data services. In the first half of 2023, the software and information technology services industry generated 47.41 billion yuan, reflecting a 27.7 percent growth.
Meanwhile, the electronic information manufacturing sector is strengthening its supply chain and boosting quality, with key industries such as intelligent terminals, electronic components, and servers leading the way. The industry's output reached 12.25 billion yuan in the first half of 2023, up 28.2 percent year-on-year.
