The Guizhou Provincial Communications Administration and the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, along with 15 other departments jointly issued a new document aiming to improve mobile user experience by enhancing collaboration across various sectors and departments.
It focuses on upgrading signal quality, user perceptions, service assurances and system capabilities.
The initiative is designed to boost mobile network signal coverage in key areas including government service centers, tourist attractions, medical institutions and universities. Other key areas are transport hubs, urban subways, highways, railways, major shopping centers, residential communities, commercial buildings and rural towns.
The plan sets clear objectives: By the end of 2024, over 2,500 key locations will have deep mobile network coverage, with improved signal quality in elevators and underground parking lots within residential areas.
By the end of 2025, more than 4,000 key locations, including major high-speed railways and over 8,000 kilometers of highways, as well as the four metro lines in Guiyang (Lines 1, 2, 3, and S1) – will achieve continuous mobile network coverage.
The plan also calls for enhanced coordination by industry regulators to address such issues as site access difficulties and high entry costs, ensuring that critical network needs are prioritized and swiftly addressed by telecoms operators.
