Gui'an spurs high-quality development with bold initiatives

Gui'an New Area is currently making significant strides in high-quality development through a robust focus on investment, projects and industry.

By aiming to become a major economic growth hub in West China, Gui'an is widely seen as driving economic functionality with a vigorous approach to industry and project development.

In 2023, the region's GDP grew by 24.1 percent, the highest among national new areas.

Gui'an is also working towards becoming a new inland economic highland by enhancing its openness. In 2023, the actual use of foreign capital in Gui'an surged by 88 percent, leading the province. In short, the region is steadily establishing itself as an inland economic powerhouse.

What's more, Gui'an is committed to ecological civilization by promoting green production, consumption, living and culture. Currently, 98 percent of new buildings in the area are green construction – transforming Gui'an into a modern, livable and business-friendly city.

Focusing on its urban-rural integration, Gui'an has been enhancing its urban functionality. Since June 2023, the area has seen a population increase of 59,000, demonstrating harmonious urban and rural development.

Overall, Gui'an has aggressively pursued technological innovation to become Guizhou's tech innovation center.

Initiatives include establishing innovative cities, industries and businesses enterprises – and fostering tech platforms, investments and talent.

This approach is understood to have become a magnet that has attracted significant projects like Huawei's Digital Economy Innovation Center and Tsinghua University's Wujiang Laboratory – accelerating the growth of innovation platforms and enterprises and promoting cutting-edge developments in smart computing, industry models and cloud services.
