On April 18, the groundbreaking ceremony for Guiyang's first batch of affordable housing projects was held in Baiyun district.
These projects, totaling 3,600 apartment units, include Phase One of Yunxinyuan, Xiaolongtan, Sanma Area, Haimachong, and east of Jiaxiu South Road, scheduled for completion by 2026.
In March 2024, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area launched the "Implementation Plan for Constructing Affordable Housing in Guiyang and Gui'an". It aims to construct 10,000 units of affordable housing within five years.
The beneficiaries include local residents facing housing difficulties and urban migrants with moderate incomes. Plans are for these projects to gradually expand to all moderate-income groups. Units range from 70 to 90 square meters, and will not exceed 120 square meters. Construction teams have the flexibility to optimize unit layouts based on regional demand and construction conditions. This initiative aims to address the rigid housing needs of moderate-income groups and newcomers, stabilizing housing expectations.
The Yunxinyuan project in Baiyun district spans approximately 129.41 mu (8.63 hectares), with a total construction area of 312,400 square meters. Once completed, it will feature 2,375 units across five unit types.
Officials from the Guiyang municipal bureau of housing and urban-rural development stated that plans are in motion to advance affordable housing construction, focusing on policy refinement, project completion, and funding assurance.
