Price Monitoring and Control Department

Responsibilities: 

The price monitoring and control department formulates the annual target for consumer price index; works out action plans, targets, and control measures to ensure supply and stabilize fluctuation in prices; assists the government in drawing up important commodity reserve systems, working on market circulation system reform, and organizing price control work for important production materials markets, factors markets, and farmer's markets; works with relevant departments to investigate, forecast and analyze changes in important commodity and service prices and market supply and demand, and the market price fluctuations in extraordinary periods; monitors and delivers early warning on prices of goods and services; organizes, guides and coordinates the price monitoring work in Guiyang and propose policy recommendations; and carries out price policy publicity and releases market price information. The department is also responsible for the regulation and control of production and circulation during the period of abnormal price fluctuations and providing temporary living assistance for people in distress. It undertakes the base construction to ensure supply and stabilize fluctuation in prices.
