Nanming achieves rapid development over past 10 years

Over the past 10 years, Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has achieved rapid development.

Great changes have been seen in economic development, urban renewal, social governance, quality of life and ecological construction.

The GDP of Nanming district jumped from 37.55 billion yuan in 2012 to 97.77 billion yuan in 2021.

From 2019 to 2021, Nanming's GPD ranked first among all districts, counties and county-level cities in Guiyang.

Meanwhile, from 2018 to 2019, Nanming was listed among the Top 100 National Science and Technology Innovation Districts.

In 2020, it was listed among the Top 100 Counties and Cities of China in Terms of Science and Technology Innovation, and was approved to build a third group of national-level entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration bases.

In 2021, Nanming was selected as one of the Top 100 National Science and Technology Innovation Zones.

Moreover, from 2012 to 2016, Nanming implemented 16 reconstruction projects in concentrated shanty towns, which covered an area of 4.9 million square meters and benefited more than 100,000 people. Another 14 reconstruction projects in non-concentrated shanty towns were also implemented, adding 60,000 sq m of green area.

From 2017 to 2021, 65 shantytown renovation projects in Nanming were completed, benefiting 39,532 residents, and 10 old residential community renovation projects involving 24,989 residents were completed.

Nanming currently has 89 public primary and middle schools, 13 more than in 2012.

Additionally, Nanming has made great achievements in developing digital economy in its Huaguoyuan area.

From 2012 to 2016, more than 2,100 big data-related companies and business incubators were set up in Huaguoyuan, forming the Huaguoyuan big data entrepreneurship cluster.

From 2017 to 2021, the number of big data enterprises in Huaguoyuan reached 1,450.

During the period, the operating income of internet and related services, software, and information technology service enterprises above designated size had an average annual growth rate of 42.4 percent.

Also, 520 big data integration application projects were implemented in Nanming from 2017 to 2021, and 2,220 5G base stations were built, achieving full coverage of outdoor scenes in the district.
