Over the past decade, Xiuwen Economic Development Zone in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has undergone great changes.
The zone is located in the center of the Central Guizhou Economic Zone and is an important node along the real economic belt in the northern part of Guiyang and the core area of the northern industrial new city.
In January 2012, the Guizhou Provincial Government changed the name of Guizhou Xiuwen Pharmaceutical Industrial Park to Guizhou Xiuwen Economic Development Zone.
Economic development
From 2012 to 2021, the number of industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with annual output value of 20 million yuan ($2.81 million) or more – in the zone increased from 43 to 100, with the total industrial output value rising from 6.9 billion yuan to 18.59 billion yuan.
In 2018-22, the zone invested 20.77 billion yuan into industrial fixed assets.
From January to August this year, the total industrial output value of industries and industrial added value in the zone reached 13.44 billion yuan and 2.51 billion yuan, respectively, year-on-year increases of 13.93 percent and 10.72 percent.
Industrial investment attraction
During the 10-year period, the zone introduced more than 150 projects with an investment of about 75 billion yuan.
Project construction
The zone has made every effort to ensure temporary power and water use, financing, land and other elements in the project construction, promoting the rapid start, implementation, completion and operation of projects.
Infrastructure improvement
Over the 10-year period, the zone built or renovated eight substations, relocated 55 kilometers of power supply lines, and built 50 km of power supply lines, as well as a new 55-km gas pipeline network.
Also, four waterworks, 13 environmental protection infrastructure projects and several 5-million-metric-ton strategic railway loading points were built.
