Guiyang's 2025 lantern festival to kick off in Baiyun

Guiyang Thousand Lantern Night 2025 – Baiyun Lantern Festival is set to kick off on Dec 21 at Penglai Xianjie – Moli Town in Baiyun district, Guiyang. This lantern festival, featuring light shows and themed activities, promises a visual feast for all attendees.

This event, which will run until Feb 16, 2025, boasts an extended duration and impressive scale, design, and variety of lantern displays.

"Compared to previous years, this year's lantern exhibition is the largest in scale and richer in variety. With over 80 sets of lanterns, both large and small, the entire park will be beautifully illuminated," said Yu Siyang, deputy manager of the marketing department at Moli Town.

Lanterns depicting Chinese mythological figures, animals, insects, flowers, and traditional cultural symbols now adorn the park, enhancing the festive ambiance.

The event also will feature a range of performances, including grand fireworks displays on the first and 15th days of the Chinese New Year and traditional cultural performances like datiehua (molten iron fireworks shows) and huohu (fire pot performances).
