Baiyun district's efforts to boost rural vitalization are delivering results.

A strawberry cultivation base in Jianpo village, which is a part of Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, now enters its harvest season.

The 40-mu (2.67 hectares) strawberry cultivation base grows strawberries in its greenhouses with advanced intelligent equipment. More than 200,000 strawberry seedlings from seven varieties have been transplanted.

In May this year, Baiyun signed a deal with Beijing Jingqian Agricultural Science and Technology Co to register its subsidiary Guizhou Xingtongda Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co in Jianpo village. It is here that they will construct a fruit and vegetable demonstration park.

The industrial park will cover a total area of more than 280 mu and will be constructed in three phases.

It will include a standardized strawberry cultivation base, a grape cultivation base, and a research base.

The strawberry cultivation base is the first phase of the industrial park.

When all the three phases start operating, they are expected to generate an output value of around 28 million yuan ($3.99 million), driving the development of local economy.
