Baiyun district's waste incineration projects designated as national AAA-level

The waste incineration and power generation project in Baiyun district of Guiyang was recently awarded the national AAA-level rating in the evaluation organized by the China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation. It is the first project in Guizhou province to receive such an honor.

A panel of industry experts evaluated the environmental-friendliness, safety, and quality of Baiyun district's waste incineration and power generation plant based on on-site inspections and document reviews, according to evaluation standards and procedures.

The title of AAA-level waste incineration and power generation Plant represents the highest industry standard and recognizes the leading position of such plants in technology, management, and environmental protection, as well as their achievements in efficient, clean, and safe waste treatment and resource recycling.

Located in Maijia town, Baiyun district, the plant commenced operations in September 2022. Covering an area of 152 mu (10.13 hectares), it handles 800,000 metric tons of domestic waste annually from four districts and three counties in Guiyang, while also generating 350 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, meeting the power needs of approximately 200,000 households.

Additionally, the plant features a 3-story, more-than-2,500-square-meter eco-friendly exhibition hall. Through a combination of educational explanation, interactive experiences, and on-site tours, the hall promotes public awareness of environmental protection, fostering a green and low-carbon lifestyle for the public.
