All the backstreets and valleys included in Baiyun's renovation and upgrading plan this year will be finished in early November, according to Xu Shikai, deputy director of the urban administration office of the Baiyun district comprehensive administration and law enforcement bureau.
According to the plan, a total of 30 backstreets and valleys in the jurisdiction of Baiyun will be upgraded, including the renovation of underground pipe networks, aerial pipelines, roadways, sidewalks and street lights.
"We will also add garbage collection sites and build public toilets and other convenient facilities," Xu said.
What's more, Baiyun plans to build 10 streets and valleys with cultural characteristics, as well as construct squares, parks and walls with paintings to bring convenience to local residents and enrich their lives, Xu added.
