The 7th Digital China Summit kicked off in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian province, on May 23. The five-day event focused on the blueprint and practical experience in building a "Digital China".

The Guiyang and Gui'an (Fuzhou) Digital Economy Development Cooperation and Exchange Meeting was held in Sanfang Qixiang on May 25, during the exhibition.

Representatives from government departments and enterprises in the big data field in both Guizhou and Fujian were invited, aiming to deepen cooperation, share opportunities, and promote mutual development between the two provinces.

At the meeting, Gao Qun, deputy director of the liaison office of Guiyang Municipal People's Government in Shanghai, presented an introduction to the industrial development of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.

According to Gao, in 2023, the economic output of Guiyang and Gui'an reached 515.4 billion yuan. The economic growth rate has ranked among the tops of provincial capitals in China for 10 consecutive years, while the economic strength and benefits have steadily improved.

Currently, Guiyang and Gui'an are focusing on the development of software and information technology services and electronic information manufacturing, as well as key industries related to new energy vehicles, advanced equipment manufacturing, aluminum and aluminum processing, phosphorous chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and organic food.

Efforts are being made to accelerate industrial clustering, form an industrial ecosystem, and attract more people, resources and funds to Guiyang and Gui'an.

In the subsequent exchange session, officials from the industrial integration department of Guiyang bureau of big data development and management explained the development of Guiyang and Gui'an's digital economy.

Guiyang and Gui'an are seizing the development opportunity presented by intelligent computing, industrial big model nurturing, and data training.

These initiatives aim to accelerate the formation of new quality productive forces and support the development of the core areas of the National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Pilot Zone and the National Digital Economy Development and Innovation Zone, making Guiyang and Gui'an the "China Data Valley" with international influence.

Guiyang and Gui'an look forward to deepening cooperation with entrepreneurs in areas such as intelligent computing centers, artificial intelligence training bases, digital transformation services, and data element reform.

They have also extended an invitation to entrepreneurs to participate in the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2024. This year marks the 10th year since the establishment of the expo. As a national-level expo, the 2024 event is currently under preparation and is scheduled to be held in late August in Guiyang.

The expo will feature exhibitions on the digital economy and data elements, as well as opening and closing ceremonies, dialogues, achievement releases, competitions, and other activities.

In recent years, Guiyang and Gui'an have regarded the digital economy as one of the main paths toward high-quality development. In 2023, the added value of the digital economy in Guiyang and Gui'an accounted for 52.9 percent of GDP, exceeding 250 billion yuan.

The successful hosting of this cooperation and exchange meeting is expected to further promote the exploration and sharing of data elements between Guiyang-Gui'an and Fuzhou, jointly forming a new model of innovative development centered on new quality productive forces.
