Dalin village recognized for lush, natural foliage

Dalin village – located in the Baiyun district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has been recognized as a front runner in promoting greenery coverage and the ecosystem and environment, according to local media reports.

The village has a total area of 4.6 square kilometers, including 52.7 hectares of arable land and more than 370 hectares of mountain forests.

What's more, its vegetation is well preserved. There are also natural caves such as Huangniu Cave and Shuiniu Cave to explore.

It is one of the development villages of the original ecological tourism area of Baiyun district.

The forest coverage rate in the village has now reached more than 80 percent. In 2016, it was rated as a provincial ecological demonstration village.

Then three years later, it was one of the first batch of national forest villages. Always drawing the visitors is the fact that it is a natural oxygen bar and a very popular summer resort.

In recent years, Baiyun district has promoted environmental protection through ecological restoration and pollution prevention and controls. It has also coordinated the integrated protection and systematic management of its mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes and grass.

In 2022, the forest coverage rate of the whole district was 45.8 percent, and it recorded 98.6 days of the year with good ambient air quality.

This year the district wants to raise its forest coverage rate above 46 percent and the number of days with good ambient air quality to 98.7 percent.
