The efforts made by Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to introduce talent have finally delivered results.
In 2022, Baiyun attracted over 7,000 college graduates to work and start businesses within the district. It also introduced 4,786 urgently needed talents to its manufacturing and big data industries.
To better serve these talents, Baiyun has promoted the construction of projects regarding high-quality education and medical care, while also accelerating the construction and operation of commercial complexes.
In addition, it has improved its five-level talent housing security system, which comprises of talent towns, senior talent apartments, youth talent apartments, affordable rental housing for talents, and staff dormitories.
In 2022, Baiyun built 617 residential rental units for talents, cashed out a rental subsidy of 462,000 yuan ($68,955), reduced or exempted house purchases by 5.83 million yuan, and gave rent discounts to 730 young talents.
Last year, Baiyun also signed a talent training agreement with six universities, including the Guizhou University of Finance and Economics and the Guizhou University of Commerce.
