Baiyun enterprises resume production amid pandemic

Enterprises in Baiyun district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have gradually resumed operations amid the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in the province.

Information from the Baiyun industry and information technology bureau shows that Baiyun has 83 enterprises above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more.

When COVID-19 outbreak was at its most severe, a total of 30 key enterprises involved in material supply, the military industry and aluminum processing in the jurisdiction of Baiyun insisted on continuing production.

As of Sept 13, a total of 61 enterprises had resumed normal production.

CRRC Guiyang Co, based in Baiyun district, is one of the enterprises insisting on production amid tightened virus prevention and control policies.

The main business of CRRC Guiyang Co is the repair and manufacture of railway freight cars and the design and manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock accessories.

During the epidemic, the Baiyun enterprise launched an emergency plan for the closed operation of its factory.

Around 1,300 staff members at the enterprise's Dulaying factory had worked and lived in the factory since Sept 4, guaranteeing normal operations amid the outbreak

The enterprise also sent about 40 staff members to contribute to virus prevention and control work in Dulaying sub-district.
