The construction of a living circle where residents can seek efficient, convenient and high-quality medical treatment within a 15-minute walk has been accelerated in Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The Yuncheng sub-district in the jurisdiction of Baiyun is a good example of the district's efforts to provide better medical services.
The sub-district currently possesses such medical resources as the Guizhou Provincial Orthopaedic Hospital, the Guiyang Huikang Hospital and the Yuncheng Street Health Service Center.
Common, chronic and frequently-occurring illnesses can be treated nearby.

For example, the Yuncheng Sub-district Health Service Center can provide free physical examinations for senior residents over 65 years old and those with chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
Moving forward, Baiyun will continue to deepen the reform of the medical and health system, improve the medical environment, make up for shortcomings in medical services by building facilities, and strive to build a medical service circle where minor illnesses can be treated at the township-level hospitals, and serious illnesses can be treated in hospitals.
