The Baiyun district of Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a series of riotous fun activities to celebrate the recent Lantern Festival, really lifting the spirits of locals.
The Lantern Festival is a traditional event for family reunions in China. It takes place on the first full moon of the new year, which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month, according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

This year's lantern festival took place on Feb 15.
The celebration activities in Baiyun included making yuanxiao – boiled glutinous rice flour balls typically consumed at the end of the Lunar New Year holiday – guessing lantern riddles, and among other popular entertainments.
