Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has built 440 5G base stations in the first 10 months of this year, bringing the total number of such stations in the district to 1,251.

According to the Baiyun Bureau of Big Data Development and Management, Baiyun has already completed its annual 5G station base construction goal for 2021, which was to build 437 bases before the end of the year.

China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, China's three major telecommunications operators, put forward the construction requirements for China Tower Co, which builds the infrastructure according to demand, and each telecommunications operator then adds its own 5G equipment after the infrastructure is delivered.

In addition to building 5G base stations, Baiyun district has accelerated the construction of 5G application scenarios.

This year, a total of three projects in Baiyun district were included on the list of 5G application scenarios under development in Guiyang for scheduling.

They include the "Smart Baiyun" project, the regional residents' health and public health information integrated management system project, and the virtual simulation laboratory of the Guizhou University of Commerce.

Of which, the "Smart Baiyun" project has gathered data from 32 government departments and completed the development of 136 data standard ports with a cumulative data volume of over 11 million.
