The Baiyun district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- will reportedly redouble efforts to strengthen the development of its real economy in the next five years.

From 2021 to 2025, plans are for Baiyun to accelerate building a modern industrial system. This will involve leading industries, leading enterprises, industry supply chains, the construction of industrial parks, technological innovation, business promotions and environmental protection, among other things.

By 2025, Baiyun district is projected to generate total industrial output valued at 50 billion yuan ($7.50 billion) and to have attracted industry investment of 42 billion yuan.

The district is projected to have 180 industrial enterprises above a designated size -- those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more -- and to have added new factories with a combined floor space of 1.15 million square meters, covering 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of industrial land.

The proportion of its industrial added value to regional GDP -- and the contributions of manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing to industries above a designated size -- will also be increased.

Meanwhile, more efforts will be made by Baiyun district to boost its agricultural modernization.

Plans are for the district to vigorously promote urban modern agriculture and intensive processing of agricultural products. It is expected to build a modern agricultural industry system with high yields, high quality, strong extensibility and strong integration -- and boost the construction of a "Mushroom Town," and a specialist complex to cultivate, process and sell vegetables to the country.

Additionally, Baiyun district is reportedly aiming to become an all-for-one tourism demonstration zone, to improve local travel routes and improve the quality of its tourism services.

By 2025, the number of overnight tourists in Baiyun district is projected to top 3 million, while companies with a designated size in the tourism industry will number more than 90.

Moving forward, Baiyun district will promote its digital industrialization while promoting the construction of digital infrastructure.
