Rural revitalization burgeons in Guiyang's Baiyun district

The Baiyun district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has reportedly made great achievements in its rural revitalization since the start of the year.

In the first half of 2021, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in Baiyun district came in at 12,099 yuan ($1,875), an increase of 13.9 percent, while the absolute value ranked first in the city.

During the period, the added value of the district's primary industry reached 332 million yuan, a rise of 6.8 percent. 

In terms of basic medical care, Baiyun completed the construction of 16 village clinics, based on the goal to build standardized clinics in every administrative village. 

To insure domestic residential safety, Baiyun reportedly continued to do a consistent and quality job in the monitoring and investigation of rural housing safety.

At present, all 25,893 rural houses in the district have been investigated. Some 40 rural houses with safety risks have been identified and remedial measures have been undertaken.

In addition, Baiyun has worked to roll out modern rural waste management and the coverage rate of rural waste collection and treatment has now reportedly reached 100 percent.

Baiyun has also fully used rural sewage treatment facilities to promote sewage treatment and completed the upgrading and renovation of 307 household eco-friendly sanitary toilets in rural areas.

In developing industries, Baiyun is said to be fully committed to becoming an edible mushroom processing hub and is expanding planting, sightseeing, tourism and commercial services themed on mushrooms.
