Baiyun district in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is promoting the development of its industrial sector, projecting the value of its total output this year to reach 25 billion yuan ($3.86 billion).

The district is reportedly pushing to expand industrial clusters, attracting industry supply chain investment and more resident companies. This year, it is expecting the startup of a mushroom processing plant above a designated size – with annual revenue after ramp-up of 20 million yuan or more.

More companies are due to arrive this year, with the district expecting 13 manufacturers above a designated size, operating in areas including electronics information, advanced equipment manufacturing and new materials.

In the wake of further marketing and lobbying, the district is expected to secure the groundbreaking of another 17 projects and the start of operation of 12 projects.

In addition, Baiyun district is continuing to promote the growth of its development zone, putting together assessment and evaluation management methods, and intensifying the build-out of new infrastructure.

The aim is to harness the development zone as the main driving force for new industrialization in the district, with the goal this year to build 230,000 square meters of standard workshops.
