Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is advancing its industrial development, according to local media reports.
Located in Baiyun district, Guizhou CHALCO Aluminum Co Ltd is a provincial key enterprise with an annual output of 150,000 metric tons of aluminum sheets and strips.
In 2011, it settled in the aluminum and aluminum-processing base in Baiyun district and it is aiming to become the most powerful supplier in the global aluminum foil industry.
According to its general manager Cai Haitao, the company achieved an output of 95,600 tons and sales revenue of 1.59 billion yuan ($246.61 million) in 2020. In the first quarter of 2021, the output was 26,700 tons – a year-on-year increase of 36 percent, with sales revenue of 430 million yuan, up 62 percent.
Cai said that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the company plans to invest 300 to 500 million yuan to extend its deep processing capabilities for products. It will also develop into a key production base in Southwest China in the sector of ultra-thin aluminum foil and aluminum foil for the batteries of new energy vehicles.
In addition to the aluminum deep processing industry, Baiyun district is also pushing development in industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing, new building materials and modern manufacturing.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the district expects to add more than 100 industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – bring the total number to 180 in 2025.
