Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will promote the construction of 79 key and major projects with an investment of more than 16 billion yuan ($2.45 billion), according to local media reports.
The investment volume marks a year-on-year increase of 15.52 percent. Meanwhile, the fixed-asset investment in the district will reach 24.58 billion yuan this year.
The projects cover urban construction, environmental protection, social undertakings and manufacturing, among other areas.
Of the 79 projects, 22 are ongoing construction projects, including the No 6 Middle School, Baiyun's health and medical industry center and shantytown renovations in the district's Heishitou area.
Nineteen new projects will be undertaken this year, including a smart internet of things city project, the Guiyang Evergrande football stadium in Biayun district and the pre-school education improvement and renovation project.
In addition, there are two finishing projects and 36 preliminary projects.
Baiyun district will enhance its services for companies and improve industrial plans to accelerate the construction of the high-quality projects and boost economic development.
