Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, reported a total of 6,125 new market entities in 2020, according to the district's market supervision and administration bureau.

Among them, 1,834 are new enterprises, and 4,291 are new self-employed individuals. The total marked a year-on-year increase of 33.12 percent and has brought the total number of market entities in the district to 31,900.

Baiyun district's market supervision and administration bureau has continuously optimized its business environment, carrying out various reforms such as promoting simultaneous processing of business licenses and permits, launching a one-stop online platform for government affairs and streamlining procedures for the opening of enterprises.

A one-stop service window was set up at the district's government affairs service hall to freely handle enterprise registration, official seal engraving, receipt of invoices, housing provident fund payment and more affairs.

The bureau also improved the efficiency of examination and approval, requiring staff members to handle online business applications submitted before 5 pm each day.

The public has praised the window staffers for their prompt and helpful service.
