Guiyang's Baiyun district and Beijing Guangzheng Investment Group (BGIG) signed an agreement on Dec 1 to construct a Ferris-wheel themed commercial complex at the junction of Guanshanhu and Baiyun.
BGIG is a Beijing-based enterprise that pursues a wide range of investments, including the operation of Ferris-wheel projects, films and televisions, cultural products, sports and technology equity.
The project will cover about 90,000 square meters, with its investment hitting 3 billion yuan ($458.4 million). Once completed, more than 2,000 new jobs will be created.
Both Baiyun and BGIG promised to further their cooperation in project construction, security management and brand promotion.
The complex's construction is expected to move forward at a rapid pace adhering to the principles of high quality and thorough safety measures.
