With adjustments made to the structure of its agricultural sector, Baiyun district -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has seen its mushroom industry grow by leaps and bounds.
To date, Baiyun has planted 37.52 million mushroom stalks, accounting for 93.8 percent of the Guiyang's annual municipal target.
Centered on Penglai Fairyland industrial park, Baiyun has built a plantation covering 27,000 square meters. In addition, in-depth cooperation with other edible mushroom cultivation companies such as GZFY Co and Guizhou Baocheng Co has been achieved.
A total of 550,000 stalks of adictyophora rubrovolvata and flower mushrooms were planted this year, producing more than 300,000 metric tons of mushrooms.
In addition, three cultivation centers were established to boost sales, underscoring the importance of mushroom planting in Guizhou and processing in Guiyang, with sales to China and the rest of the world.
Statistics showed that the annual output capacity of 18,100 tons of mushrooms in Baiyun were achieved to date, accounting for 106.43 percent of Guiyang's municipal target. The annual output volume was valued at 235 million yuan ($ 35.7 million), accounting for 130.32 percent of the municipal target.
