The first intelligent traffic-light system installed in Baiyun district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently started operating.
The system, which was developed in the current year, will help Baiyun become a smart district equipped with smart transportation.
The traffic system includes traffic lights and real-time face-capture LED screens. When traffic lights turn red, a voice prompt is triggered automatically to warn drivers and passengers.
The traffic lights, installed with an intelligent voice system, are providing convenience for locals, said Wang Yuxiang, an on-duty teacher at the nearby local school.
For the sake of teachers and students' safety, the system was first set up there for its trial operation. It will help improve the traffic safety awareness of students.
The traffic system will be rolled out to Yunfeng Avenue and Quanhu Park in the near future.
