Baiyun district -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has made tremendous efforts in targeting its industrial development and rural revitalization.
One example is Guiyang Penglai Urban and Rural Development Co, which has fully utilized local resources to build a rural tourism commercial ecosystem -- which features flowers, forests, fruits and edible mushrooms -- to increase the income of locals.
At the same time, the company established an industrial mushroom park with an annual yield of about 1 million stems.
The park has newly completed the construction of 27,000 square meters of production facilities and 46 greenhouses. A total of 30 intelligent mushroom hothouses have been designed for the planting of some rare mushrooms.
The company has also focused on the seedling industry to establish a supply area covering 500 mu (333,333 square meters). This is located in Sijing village, Baiyunshan town, in Changshun county and involved a total investment of 850,000 yuan ($126,310).
The operation includes land conversion, voluntary labor and collective asset management, which would help Baiyunshan in its efforts to shake off poverty.
