To revitalize local food industries and complete the food industry chain, Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is developing the famous local drinking water brand Guizhou Spring.
Guizhou Spring, located within Baiyun's economic and development zone, has five automatic production lines, manufacturing more than 10 drinking water products, which come in bottles, large packages and barrels.
By the end of 2019, the brand's phase-one project achieved annual production of 120,000 metric tons, with more than 500 water stations across Guizhou.
Guizhou Spring's phase-two project and phase-three project started development at the end of 2017. Once the projects go into operation, Guizhou Spring expects to see 350,000 tons of annual production capacity and 260 million yuan ($38.84 million) of annual output value.
Baiyun enjoys high-quality water sources, easy transportation and low logistics costs, which have attracted two enterprises to build drinking water-related projects – one from Jiangsu province in East China and the other from Sichuan province in Southwest China.
A bottling facility and package production project were put into use on Sept 22, both of which supplement the drinking water industry chain.
