The center, which covers an area of 14,000 square meters, houses a total of 36 government departments and provides more than 700 administrative services.

Its functional areas are twice the size of the previous premises.

They contain, among others, staff and services for public security, tax affairs, business affairs, medical and social insurance.

In addition, there are 24-hour self-service facilities for the public to access fast-track services, according to Xiang Jingjing, a staff member at the center.

"We got our marriage certificates only within eight minutes of standing in line. I feel that was amazingly fast," said Baiyun resident Liu Yang, recalling his marriage registration experience during the Double Seventh Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day.

Apart from marriage registrations, the center also provides other convenient and effective services – including making appointments, providing certificates of residence and allowing 24-hour medical and social insurance payments, vehicle purchase tax declarations and invoices.
